2010 Publication: Best If Used By

I have written a short piece of creative nonfiction published by Connotation Press. In Best If Used By, I explore how Middle Eastern women might view war and the presence of the U.S. and U.N. troops on their soil. Although I doubt I’ve succeeded, I’m compelled to look into the dark corners of their lives, where war and loss are a daily disruption and there is no luxury so profound–or as welcome in some cases–as death.

Best If Used By, published in 2010, can be read here: http://www.connotationpress.com/creative-nonfiction/605-mary-mcfarland.

2010 Awards: Golden Pen

My  novel, Vengeance Is Mine: the Profiler’s Passion, earned its keep by placing third in the Golden Pen’s romantic suspense category.
